Where it started

I’ve been pretty infatuated with photography since I was very young. My grandmother, who also enjoys photography to this day (mostly landscapes) inspired me with her love for capturing the world around her. From a young age, I was fascinated by the idea of freezing a single moment in time. Things change so quickly and and there is something so beautiful about preserving a moment that will never happen exactly the same way again.

Growing up with a creative mind, I tried my hand at traditional art forms , but paintbrushes and clay were never really my thing (seriously, don’t even ask me to draw a stick figure…it’s…rough.) Photography on the other hand, felt like the perfect outlet for my creativity. By high school, I was always the one with a camera in her hand (Shout out to my Nikon Coolpix and Ashton Kutcher… iykyk) I progressively became more invested in my gear and editing programs and would take family and friends out for photo shoots! Looking back at those photos I had a lot to learn but you can always see the passion was there.

Fast-Forward a bit…

In 2017, I had my first child my daughter who is the inspiration behind the “HIVE” branding. I have always called her “bee”. Years passed and I had so much fun capturing all of her milestones, important moments and everyday life with her. In 2023 I had my son and decided… I want to capture these special moments for other parents as well. I want o capture their story so they can look back and have something tangible to hold on to and cherish for years to come. In 2024, I finally decided to make my dream come true and I officially launched HIVE photography - Wisconsin. Since then, I have had an incredible time capturing my clients smiles, their silly faces, their BIG moments - and it feeds my soul. I want to help you preserve these memories. Keep these precious moments close because trust me, they won’t ever happen the exact same way, ever again… and there is something so beautiful about that.

FAQ

What should I wear to my photoshoot?

I always recommend something you feel comfortable and confident in! Soft textures, neutral or solid colors and styles that look timeless. Avoid busy patterns or logos that might distract from your beautiful face! If you are struggling to find something, check out my Pinterest page or reach out and I’d be happy to put together some ideas for you!

How far in advance should I book?

It’s best to reach out as early as possible, especially for popular times of year such as holiday times or senior portrait season. Ideally, I recommend booking at least 3-4 weeks in advance, but there is always a chance I have some last minute availability. If you are on a time crunch - reach out and I will accommodate as much as possible.

How long will it take to receive my photos?

Typically, you’ll receive your gallery within two weeks of your session. I always aim to deliver them as soon as possible. However, I will prioritize quality over time. Some photos need a little extra love and I will make sure I give each photo the time it deserves so you leave with a gallery full of images you can brag about!

Can I share my photos on social media?

Please do! Just a reminder tagging your photographer means the world to their small business!

What happens if I book an outdoor session and the weather is bad?

Well, we can always run with it and use the weather as a creative advantage if possible! However, it is very important to me that you are comfortable and feeling good for your session. So - if you don’t jive with crummy weather, we can absolutely reschedule to a date that works for both of us. I always watch the forecast, and I’ll be in touch ahead of time in case of bad weather to make sure we’re set up for success. I want to make sure you have a fun and stress-free experience!

Do you offer mini sessions?

Yes! I offer mini sessions throughout the year. These are a great way to capture beautiful moments in a shorter, more affordable session. Keep an eye on my social media pages — I post all mini session announcements there first!
